Philip Gamble, aka Girl Unit and now also Hysterics, has made a mix for DIS Magazine. Acting as an introduction to the new project and a taster of the upcoming Hysterics ‘Club Constructions’ volume for Night Slugs, it features individual works alongside tracks from label associates Jam City, Nguzunguzu, Helix (read Bok Bok’s introduction to the young producer here) and others like British EBM duo Nitzer Ebb and Detroit techno stalwart DJ Bone. Whilst Girl Unit’s music can almost be dreamlike in its lucidity, Hysterics is all about pneumatic pressure and primal rhythms: skeletal dance music that sounds like the tools it was made with.
