Champion live at Cable, London

Wobbles and MCing abound in this high energy set last weekend from Hackney’s Champion. The talented just-out-of-his-teens producer has been blending styles of UK funky with early grime, and this set is testament to his ruffness as a DJ.

Both Butterz’ and Terror Danjah’s Hardrive labels have taken a keen interest in Champion, and it was no surprise that he was one of the highlight sets from their joint label party this past weekend. He’s pretty much the best new funky DJ on the scene, and you really should be on him.
