Champion and Marcus Nasty at the Butterz/Hardrive rave

In among the grime headliners (JME! Royal-T! Terror Danjah!) who showcased their sound at the Butterz 2nd birthday party held in conjunction with Hardrive Records were two sets of some of the best UK funky you’re bound to hear.

DJs Champion and Marcus Nasty more than waved the flag for the sub-genre. Champion’s set immaculately blends rumbling bassline, 2-step and grime with fantastic funky often produced by the man himself. Founding father Marcus Nasty’s rapid-fire mixing on the second stream makes the most of his unmatched collection of skank-ready dancefloor hits. Top marks all round.
