Bok Bok & Girl Unit Live at Heaven

As well as the recently-covered o F F Love, fans at Kindness’ recent headline show at Heaven would’ve been treated to a surprise collaborative live set from Night Slugs’ acts Bok Bok and Girl Unit.

Recorded on an all-hardware setup comprising of “Drumtraks, a TR-909, Polysix, Juno 106, MPC” (according to the Night Slugs’ Soundcloud, anyway), the duo tear through tracks from their respective back catalogues, including Bok Bok’s Reminder and Silo Pass and, naturally, a rugged and raw take on Girl Unit’s Wut to close. It’s pretty incredible hearing these tracks remade in this way, and whilst it’d be great if this proved to be the first of many live shows to come, it could just as well remain a snapshot of a one-time only performance.
