Live Broadcast: Stream Brandt Brauer Frick in London

The first evening of December may have been cold and snow, but things were hot and cosy inside the ICA in London. The German trio, Brandt Brauer Frick, had brought their live fusion of jazz, house, classical, and techno to the stage as openers for Fujiya & Miyaga. The three men walked out to a quiet crowd and took no time to hit us with their deep and grooving single from 2009, ‘Bop.’ The tone shifted quickly in the room from stunned to toe tapping and then dancing as the group took us on a soulful path through their old and new work. Their concentration and intensity between the guys and their instruments was riveting, and even the craziest dancers in the room still kept their eyes glued to the stage. Before we knew it the show was over and, following a lovely performance from Fujiya & Miyagi, we found ourselves trudging home in the snow as the sleepy London winter provided a stark silence to our musical experience.
