Dummy Mix 287 // Jus Now

Jus Now is the meeting of two rum, riddim and bass obsessives, Interface and LAZAbeam. Hailing from Bristol and Trinidad respectively, the project is an adhesive between traditional Caribbean rhythm and culture combined with the weighty, sub heavy sound of the UK underground, which is particularly prevalent in Interface's hometown – the sound system lovin' city of Bristol.

Physically separated by 4,500 miles the duo were ultimately brought together by a shared love of bass, rum and wild parties, which saw Jus Now traverse between both Trinidad and Bristol to create their debut 'One Time EP back in 2013. Since then, the pair have managed to carve their own lane, which subsequently led to collaborations with Bunji Garlin and Ms. Dynamite, plus remixing My Nu Leng's club anthem Masterplan featuring Manchester's much-loved MC, Fox.

Now, after the standout success of the Toddla T Sound shelldown at Notting Hill Carnival, the Sheffield selector will be bringing his unique take on the infamous London street party indoors with all the colour and energy of summer…even though it's freezing and miserable outside. All more reason to, right? Jus Now will be playing a set alongside a line up bursting with carnival vibes; from dancehall dons The Heatwave, through to UK Garage legend Wookie and versatile producer Cadenza.

Setting off the warm up, listen to Jus Now's mix below and set your inner functions to party mode.

Jus Now play Toddla T's Winter Carnival at KOKO on December 12th (tickets).
